Academy Adventures Midtown (AAM) has a 1:1 ratio for technology. Each child has their own laptop computer or iPad assigned to them at the beginning of the school year. This year, AAM is incorporating Computer Programming and Robotics into the curriculum as part of STEM/STEAM.
1st thru 5th Grade students incorporate Computer Programming and/or Robotics into their weekly Science curriculum. The students are learning how to program various projects, which is giving them skills such as focusing, reading, problem solving, following directions, mathematics, and much more.
The students participate in Hour of Code, which is a global movement to help introduce millions of students in 180+ countries to one hour computer programming tutorials. Below are links to the Flappy Games that the students in 5th grade created! Please check them all out and see how creative each child was!
Check back frequently for updates on new programs the children have created.
